Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Domestic Short Hair (short coat) Cat

Charlene* the Cat needs a home

This is a courtey post! That means these cats are not currently under the care of The Cat Shack but can be adopted directly from their caretaker in the meantime. If you are interested in adopting this beauty, please fill out an application in the link below. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]

Her rescuer says:

She’s a stray (not feral) who came limping  to our porch last week. We’ve been feeding her twice a day. Very friendly. Meows and rubs against my leg. We were able to trap her today and take her to the Vet. She had ingrown claws curled under into her skin. They fixed her toenails. Gave her an antibiotic shot and Rabies vaccine. Also applied flea/tick prevention. She’s about 5 years old. Appears healthy. Teeth ok. Spayed. Very friendly. Must’ve been a pet at one time. The Vet said she would adapt quickly to being indoors again. She looks in our back door asking to come in. We would keep her except we have 2 geriatric cats and don’t want to upset their lives.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
